The Rhythm Method - Home Sweet Home / Party Politics 7" Vinyl

The Rhythm Method - AKA Joey Bradbury and Rowan Martin - have returned today with an yet another pitch-perfect pop record that'd sit at the top of the charts for months on months in a just world. Following on from the utterly magical one-two of the queasy, boozy Local, Girl and the summer's biggest anthem Party Politics the London duo's Home Sweet Home is a piano-led late-night classic for those of us out there who enjoy the finer things in life, namely Todd Rundgren, pints, and listening to Mellow Magic in the back of a taxi alone after too many pints. It's also a quietly powerful lamentation for a city that's turning to shit as rapidly as the queue grows for the latest burger restaurant to sit where the club that you and your mates fell in love with used to sit. "And all the girls are singing / home sweet home, London / with every closing bar/there's hollows in my heart," indeed. So there we have it: the first post-fabric anthem is here, and it's utterly gorgeous.
